Students from Across the Nation Represent UniUSA in the 2026 FISU America Games

The 2026 FISU America Games are well underway in Lima, Peru and UniUSA is surpassing new heights in the world of international sport, securing the #1 position on the medal table. As we enter day 5 of competition, here's a recap of what's happened so far:

The men's soccer team from the University of Washington has achieved a 7-1 win against Peru, a 1-1 tie against Canada, and a 5-0 win against Ecuador. They'll play once more against Argentina before heading into the semifinals.

The weightlifting team earned a total of 11 medals:

Gold: Eden Hansen 63 kg, Alyssa Ballard 69 kg, Nathan Gonzaga 71 kg, Andrea Hayes Barrows 77 kg, Calvin Lackey 88 kg, Brooks Robert Blaine 94 kg, and Grace Bustamante 86 kg.

Silver: Alexa Estevez 58 kg, Allysen Byerly 86 kg, and August Wagner 110 kg.

Bronze: Evan Fukuhara 71 kg

The men's basketball team from Indiana University beat Peru 115-36, Virgin Islands 120-65, Chile in the semifinals 107-40, and is now heading into the finals.

The women's basketball team from Rutgers University has earned 3 wins so far: 101-51 against Peru, 95-45 against Argentina, and 95-32 against Ecuador.

They play once more against Chile before advancing to the semifinals.

The taekwondo team has achieved a record-breaking start to the tournament with 11 sparring athletes securing medals (5 gold, 5 silver, and 1 bronze).

Gold: Caliana Fonseca -46kg, Alena Viana +73kg, Melvy Alvarez -58kg, Barron Mosteller -80kg, and Abou Sow +87kg

Silver: Gaia Castillo -53kg, Prahchomvong Thay -58kg, Justin Fredricks -68kg, Devin Cornell -80kg, and Marlon Perez +87kg

Bronze: Yusleny Rangel -46kg

The women's beach volleyball team from the University of San Diego started the tournament off strong with some wins by Madison White and Samantha Herman. This duo made it to the elimination round and fell just short of a medal win.

Lauren Watson and Nikole Egan wrapped up their competition, earning silver.

The swim team, with 44 swimmers (22 men and 22 women) from 27 universities has broken 3 FISU America records, university records, and is securing medals left & right. We can hardly keep track of all the wins!

Final day of swim competition is on July 26th.

Women's Basketball plays Chile on July 26th before they advance to the semis.

Women's Volleyball competition kicks off on July 26th with game 1 against Brazil.

Taekwondo competition continues with team sparring on July 26th.

Men's Basketball plays in the finals on July 27th.

Table Tennis competition has officially begun and will continue through July 29th.

Track and field competition kicks off on July 30th.
